Learn traditional drawing and painting

The Atelier Course is designed for anyone who wants to learn drawing and painting in a solid, structured way. Instruction follows a traditional, academic approach with a focus on realistic and figurative work.

Regardless of your current level, the Atelier Course offers an individual structure and the opportunity to learn and work in the atelier long term.
Before joining the Atelier Course, we recommend attending our six-week Foundation Course. We are happy to advise you on the best way to get started.

How we teach at Freihand Atelier

Instruction takes place in small groups, allowing for direct and continuous feedback. The focus is on hands-on practice, supported by demonstrations as well as verbal and visual guidance.

Through repetition, clear exercises, and working from life, you develop confidence in the drawing and painting process. Your individual learning pace and personal goals are always taken into account.

Atelier Course schedule and structure

Participation is organized flexibly. You can attend all available sessions as often as your booked plan or subscription allows. This includes not only the Atelier Course sessions but also the model evenings. Your instructions can be in German or English.

Missed sessions may be made up the following week, subject to availability.

We do not provide materials. Using your own materials is part of a serious and sustainable learning process and allows you to work consistently with familiar tools, both in the atelier and at home.
