Program at the Freihand Atelier
Our classes are structured to provide you with the best possible learning results. From general drawing basics to fundamentals for portraits, figures, and painting, all the way to fully developed drawings and oil paintings.
The sequence of the classes is our recommendation, but not mandatory. We will develop your actual curriculum together in the atelier. Because everyone has different goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
Level 1
Your entry and the foundation for all subsequent classes.
Level 2
The key fundamentals for portraits and figures.

General and simple construction of heads. Find the correct proportions with rhythm lines.

Learn the basic structure and gesture. Essentials for a realistic and dynamic drawing.
Level 3
Applying the fundamentals and your entry into painting.

With very simple step-by-step exercises, you'll get to know oil painting.

Life Drawing
Apply your knowledge from the classes: Short poses help you find movement, and longer poses are good to practice shading.
Level 4
Deepening your skills and refining the drawings.

Deepen your knowledge from the fundamental classes and draw fully rendered portraits.

Figure Drawing
Similar to portraits, you will learn the refinement of details and shading of a figure drawing.
Level 5
Learn to paint figure and portraits in oil.

Expand your portrait skills with alla prima oil paintings. And different Portrait assignments.
