A Structural Approach to Anatomy with Brian Knox

Join instructor Brian Knox for a 3-day anatomical exploration of the human figure.

This workshop will focus on how to layer and design anatomy on top of a strong gesture and basic shapes. Handouts will be included that show Brian’s step by step process and how he designs anatomy for each part of the body. Each day will include two instructor demonstrations with the remaining time devoted to one on one instruction with students. Emphasis on how to add anatomy to a drawing without disrupting the flow of the gesture.

Topics include:

  • Gesture of the figure
  • Structure of the figure
  • How to use basic shapes
  • Full anatomical breakdowns
  • How to use anatomy to create depth in a drawing
